Ed Rockett

Ed is closing in on a 40 year anniversary within the turf management industry.

During my interview with Ed, there may have been a little smoke coming from the ears while figuring out the years he has been in the industry.  Something we can all fully understand I’m sure.

Ed started in 1987 working with the SS Parks & Rec District.  1991 he started working on the crew at SS Golf Course.

In 1996 he worked at what was then, Highlands Ranch Golf Course during the grow-in phase.

Then Family Sports in 2001.

In 2006 he became the assistant superintendent here at Lone Tree.

In 2007 he was promoted to Superintendent where, thankfully, he remains today!!!

From 2001 to about 2004, Ed was a member of the Lone Tree Men’s Golf Club.

Ed holds a 2 year degree in Turf Grass Management from Front Rangy Community College.

Just a few of what Ed enjoys about his position here at Lone Tree is being outside and seeing the hard work, time and energy pay off watching the accomplishments of WATCHING GRASS GROW!!!!                       Just kidding of course.  We all see what he sees when we play a course that gets the public play it gets be in such condition after the pounding the public, not the men’s club, hammer the course with!!!

Working with the men’s club is at times, a compromise towards the same goal…….a facility we can all be proud of.

Ed really enjoys his staff and the district for it’s support.  It’s not all about money, although a nice raise would not be frowned upon.

Ed is a “4” time recipient of the ROCKY MOUNTAIN GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDANT ASSOCIATION OF COLORADO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ed, we are thrilled you agreed to this special event and are honored to have you as OUR Golf Course Superintendent.

Quiet Please…………Now driving……………..Mr Ed Rockett
